After quitting my office job to study Music Business, I decided to join Village Underground in 2018 to increase my network and learn more about all the aspects of an independent music venue.

I love the versatility this venue has to host different types of events and appeal to a wide variety of crowds: Club nights, live music, corporate events or even as an art gallery.

Working here has allowed me to meet promoters, artists, booking agents from all over the world, as well as find myself in situations like when I shake hands with Pete Townshend from 'The Who' in backstage, or have the chance to have a conversation with Rosalia, Boys Noize, L’imperatrice, Rødhåd. I was impressed by Skepta’s show when he brought Drake as a surprise on the same week he performed at O2 Arena. Also, watching Frank Carter walking and singing over the crowd, and enjoying Sundays with the positive energy from Channel One or FUSE.

During this time, apart from enjoying all these moments, some of my duties have been:

  • Support the operations and management team across different events, including live music, club, and corporate.

  • Assist with ticketing operations and entry management during events.

  • Ensuring riders and backstage areas were professionally presented.

  • Greenroom set-up, greeting artists and their teams on their arrival at the venue.
